My Tacyon Halloween + NaNo Update

I don’t understand science, so bear with me. Basically, tacyons move backwards through time. So when my brother Jesse (you might remember him from Vlog #2) heard that we were having our Halloween party after Halloween, he decided that we were having a Tacyon Halloween. Does the title make sense now? No? Welcome to my world.

Anyway, I thought I’d share some photos from our party, mostly because I’m super happy with my costume (German bar wench) and wanted to share them with you. Scroll past the photos for an update on my horrendous attempts at NaNoWriMo thus far.

Pumpkin ale and cupcakes.

Mother and brother.

Me, with my friend apparently trying to behead me.

Me trying to behead my friend.

NaNoWriMo Update:

So we’re 3 days into NaNo, and it’s going just plain awful. I am 483 words in, and I shouldn’t even be that far because I need to do actual work for my real job and instead I’m writing — and writing slowly, at that. Le sigh.

  1. I loved your costumes. I don’t think you should turn your back on your friend anymore. Keep your eyes on him LOL, then your other friend should do the same with you. Too much trying to kill each other.
Don’t get discouraged about Nano, it’s all for fun.

  2. NaNoWriMo, stream of conscious writing. 🙂

  3. Your costume is awesome. Like Mari said, watch your back! With NaNo don’t stress about it. Write when you can, and just see what happens. It isn’t easy when you have another job. I could use one of those cupcakes!

    • The job does make it difficult. I don’t seem to remember having this much trouble back when I was in university. Apparently I didn’t work as hard in university as I do now, lol.

  4. You looked great in your costume! I know you stopped by my blog, so don’t talk to me about NaNo. 😉 And I want to thank you for keeping me in the loop and helping me stay up-to-date on the current trend in videos. Once again, another very funny one!

    • Hahaha my pleasure. And I DID stop by your blog, and I was extremely relieved to find I wasn’t the only person struggling with NaNo. Although it’s now day 4, so hopefully you’ve made some progress? I’m aiming to double my word count — bring it up to an even 800. Hopefully I’m not being too overconfident.

  5. Good luck on Nano, keep going. One bloody word at a time.
    Love your costume, btw. =)

    • Thanks! It was actually from a princess costume my mom made me in grade 8. I can actually still squeeze into it, believe it or not, although it is admittedly a little tighter than I would have liked. Luckily it has laces!

  7. Looks like you threw a fun time for your friends, Michelle! I think Halloween Party etiquette dictates that you should only behead friends who show up not in costume … or was the guy in the tee shirt channeling James Dean? 😉

    • His costume was actually a fridge magnet. He had a piece of black tape on the back of his shirt that was supposedly a magnet. Apparently he thought the party was on Saturday, not Friday, and got a little-blindsided, costume-wise.

      • Sorry, my apologies to your friend, the magnet. Good thing you didn’t behead him, and good thing no one showed up as a floppy disc!
