ESCAPE! In this fantasy short story, Rhapsody Swansong, teenage bard-in-training, has to pass her end-of-year exam at the Ascalon Academy of Arcane Arts and Adventuring, which is in the form of an “escape room.” Unfortunately, her group members are an atheist cleric, a clumsy rogue, and a mage who can’t control her magic–and Rhapsody herself is a bard without an instrument. Battles are fought, friendships are formed, lessons are learned, and hilarity–of course!–ensues.

This story can be found in the Arcane Arts Anthology, available on Amazon.

  1. Heheh. Witty. Clever. Excellent blend of fantasy and bureaucratic humour. Good pun at the end of the story, as pertaining to the end of the summary. … That’s about as detailed a review as I can leave without spoiling it for anyone reading your comment pages.
