My temp job continues, netting me sweet, sweet cash, and further inhibiting my ability to meet my NaNo word count. When last we chatted, I was 483 words into NaNo. Now, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been a busy little beaver these last few days, and I have officially brought my word count up to … wait for it … drum roll …
5,455 words
Woo!!! Broke the 5k mark! PARTAY!
Okay, to be perfectly honest, that’s actually a pretty pathetic word count. You’re supposed to finish 1667 words a day, so by Day 7 I should be at 11,669 words. I’m a little short. And by a little, I mean I need to double my word count. I might have to cancel my partay …
However, I’m not letting that stop me. I WILL PREVAIL! It won’t be easy, however, because my boss has projected that he’ll need me to keep temping well into next week, and possibly longer, as the job is much bigger than they thought and we’re nowhere near done. So, yay for my bank account, and boo for my story. Oh, and we’re also moving apartments on the 17th, so there goes most of the weekend. But still, I WILL PREVAIL! If I say it enough times, it’ll come true, right? RIGHT?

Okay that music video was seriously entertaining. Grease, Hairspray, and just plain ridiculousness comes to mind. Thanks ๐
Hahahaha no problem. I may watch all the KPOP videos, but I only share the most amusing here. Why make you guys sort through the weeds when I can just hand-pick you the roses?
Now that’s a great service ๐
Good job! Yes, you will prevail!
I will!!! It will probably necessitate a 10k last minute writing party on November 30, but I WILL prevail, dammit.
Your book make you rich like czar, kill many bear.
your comment too much punctuation make you weak like ukraine.
I love that book review. I can’t remember where I read it or who linked it the first time around, but I found myself reading it aloud in my best Russian accent, and nearly choking from laughing so hard.
Isn’t great that whenever we find something written in a Russian voice, we immediately have to sound it out loud?
DA. BLOG IS GOOD.
In Soviet Russia, blog read you.
NO, BLOG READ YOU.
Yay! Keep it up ๐ LOL love the banner. The outfits in the vid were adorable, reminded me of Greece (duh). Thanks for the shares!
Greece or Grease? Lol. Sorry, couldn’t resist ๐ And yeah, I believe it’s an homage — if not to Grease, then to the 50s in general. Still, catchy song, right?
Like the picture – so true, vampires really don’t sparkle they explode or turn to ash.
Glad you have work. It will all come in time with perseverance.
I wish there was a way to become rich and successful without the need for pesky perseverance.
I always tell people that I’m going to make millions off my first novel and the subsequent movies based on it. Hasn’t worked out so far.
Hi Michelle,
I’m just letting you know that I nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blog Award
Check it out at http://mariwells.wordpress.com/
Thanks!!!!! I’ll definitely check it out ๐
You’re welcome.
Well done! Never in a million years would I ever attempt NaNo.
Just how many great novels never see the light of day because work gets in the way? This whole having to eat to stay alive is just so incompatible with writing! Oh well…back to the editing. 50,000 words will be yours by November 30th – feel free to use some of these. I used someones e-mail last year to bolster my word count (a version of it made it into the final book too!). Good luck!
Hahaha I’d love to see how I could work your comment into my book. “Casey dodged the spear of rock from the enraged elemental and shouted “This whole having to eat to stay alive is just so incompatible with writing!””
Brilliant! Put me down for a copy!
Done. You owe me $14589223940. I accept cash or cheque. No direct deposits.
I’ve got to know…What the heck is a NaNo? It sounds intriguing, whatever it is! Good luck with pumping out those words!!
Hahaha thanks. NaNo is short for NaNoWriMo – aka National Novel Writing Month.
Ah! Must be an American thing. I wonder if Canadians can participate? Thanks for clearing that up!
It is in fact a worldwide thing. Go to … oh, what is it … http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/dashboard – tells you all about it, and anyone can sign up ๐
THANKS!!!!
Good luck with NaNo! I ended up switching fandoms/stories this past weekend (which I don’t think is actually allowed?) but I really couldn’t concentrate on my original story I started on. But I guess I can just add the two word counts together? And cheat just a little? Haha.
Totally counts ๐ And I’ve sadly given up on NaNo. 21 days in, and I still have to unpack my entire apartment and work 2 jobs. There’s just no time ๐ฆ
Alright, what is NaNo? All the cool kids seem to be talking about it – and well, I want to be cool….
National Novel Writing Month. You write a 50k word novel in November (so it just passed). Here’s a link: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
