In my surfing of assorted blogs, I’ve found two little nit-picky issues that really annoy me because I’m ridiculous like that.
Therefore, here are my 2 Quick Blogging Tips (so that you don’t irritate your readers):
- Give every post a title. Otherwise what the heck am I supposed to click on to read your post?
- Make sure there’s a “Like” button accessible under every post. Some people disable the Like button due to personal aesthetic choice, but I feel that having to mouse up to the WordPress bar and click Like there is such a hassle. Give us both options, or we will become unnecessarily rageful! RAWR!
That’s it for now. Check in tomorrow, as I’ll have some exciting news (I hope!) to share. Maybe even a vlog. We’ll see how ye olde work goes.
Peace out, home skillets.

I agree–I like to find a ‘like’ button. I don’t always have time to leave a comment or have anything to add, but I like to let the blogger know I was there. The other thing I wish more people realized is that if you mention another blogger in your post, you should link to a specific post page on his/her blog, not their blog’s home page. They will get a pingback if you link to a page but not if you link to the homepage. A pingback allows the blogger who’s mentioned to know that someone mentioned them, and therefore they can go visit the post. If they don’t get a pingback, they’ll not know they were mentioned, and if they don’t read that blogger’s post that day, they won’t see the kind deed that was done. 🙂
I didn’t realize that! Good to know 🙂
It aggravates me, too, if there is no ‘like’ button, because I want them to know I liked it, even if I can’t leave a comment at the moment. And I love the baby chewbacca pic – very cute 🙂
I mean, there is a like button, but it’s hidden in the top WordPress toolbar so it’s annoying to access. People should just display Like buttons and save us the hassle. And I know — so adorable!!
Straightforward and so true. On titles, I remember something that has stuck with me: “an untitled (story) (poem) (etc.) is like an unnamed child”. How sad is that, apart from having nothing to click on!
I didn’t even think of the philosophical repercussions! Truly, you are wise.
Great tips! I wouldn’t want to make baby Chewbacca angry, he looks like a killer! 😛
I know, right?
Also … people do know that’s just a normal photo of a fluffy brown puppy in the snow … right? My mother was convinced it was a legit photoshopped image of Chewbacca as a baby …
Yeah, I know. But it’s cuter calling him baby Chewbacca. It could also be a puppy with a cocaine problem.
Hahaha. Scarface puppy.
I love that first pic. It is so freakin’ adorable. It makes me want a pup, so bad. Stupid apartment building… *grumbles* Oh, and I agree with you about the non-existent title nonsense and the absence of the like button. I hate when there isn’t a like button under the post. It’s a small thing but darn it, it irks me!
I know!!! And I battle with my intense desire to acquire a puppy/kitten every day. My roommate (okay, okay, my mother) keeps telling me why it’s a terrible idea. I think one day I’ll just break down and buy a pet, and she’ll just have to deal with it! Lol.
I love the chewy picture!!! Sooo cute!

Isn’t it adorable??? 😀
I used to forget to add a title quite a lot but not so much now 😀
I don’t mind people who don’t add titles … I just don’t read their posts! Lol.
Good advice. I think when I played around with different themes a while back some themes stick the like button up the top of the post and you didn’t get a choice about that. So… Next theme… I
But yes. I like like buttons! If I was a teenager I would probably say “I like like like buttons”!
Haha. You laugh, but I went through a really bad “like” phase. Although that was immediately following my “sorry” phase, in which I literally stuck the word “sorry” onto the start of every sentence. “Sorry, can I have a milkshake?” Etc. And yes, I AM Canadian, although I don’t think that was the cause of my sorry phase.
I agree on the “Like” button. In fact, I just ran across two blogs yesterday that didn’t have a “Like”, although you could like it on FB or Twitter.
Oh, and Baby Chewbacca is cracking me up to no end!
And that’s the thing — I don’t WANT to like it on Facebook or Twitter! I want to like it on WORDPRESS. That’s the SITE I’m on! Sheesh.
I think I’m going to make baby Chewbacca my new background. So cute!!!
Yup, I’m with you there. No argument.
Yes, obvious ‘like’ and ‘comment’ places, I never ‘like’ via Facebook or Twitter, and not more than 2 posts a day!
Blogging tip #3: More baby Star Wars
Hi Michelle, thank you for your tips. Very useful. Also, I would like to thank you for your recent follow to my blog. I hope my poems and short stories do not disappoint you. Thank you again, many blessings and much love to you. 🙂

I’m not sure why but this site is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check
back later on and see if the problem still exists.
Hey — I know there was a problem a few weeks ago because of the resolution of the background image, but I did change it to a low res image … so possibly it’s an issue on your end? If the problem persists, let me know and I’ll do some fiddling on my end 🙂
