I have literally spent the last hour sitting at my keyboard, attempting to write this post. Each time I get halfway through a post, I decide it’s stupid and then delete it and start over. Sigh.
Since I apparently have nothing intelligent to say, I suppose I’ll settle for giving a brief life update. You can barely contain your excitement, can’t you?Β CAN’T YOU?
So I got a call from Manpower (the temp agency) yesterday, and today I started a new job at a major Canadian bank, the name of which I cannot disclose on pain of a death most gruesome. It’s a 2-3 week gig, depending on how fast we get the project done, and (again, not going into details) basically involves data entry. But the challenging kind, where you need to actually pay attention to what you’re doing, solve problems, try to suss out what the scribbled writing and blank mandatory fields are trying to tell you, etc.
It’s at a bank, so I have to wear nice clothing. I’ve spent the last eight months or so wearing sweat pants (They’re comfy! Don’t judge!), so this was a new and exciting step for me. Needless to say, I felt very fancy today.
In non-work related news, my mother recently had her friend from Florida over to visit for the weekend, so I was booted from my room and took up residence on the couch. That was … fun?
I’m still waiting for my Return Evaluation to come back forΒ Imminent Danger. It’s been about 9 business days now, and I’m getting kind of impatient. And by impatient, I mean obsessively checking my email, even at times of the day when it is completely unreasonable for someone to be contacting me. I really want to see my evaluation, if only to learn whether or not I have to fork over two grand for a copy-edit.
This concludes my rambling. It is 10:30 now, and I must go prepare for bed if I want to have time to watch Glee before I go to bed. Yes, I watch Glee. I’m a girl. It’s allowed.
Update:Β I spent too much time finding videos to share with you. It is now 11 pm. No Glee for me.
Unrelated media of the day:
Jeggings are silly. Enjoy.
Female warriors’ outfits in video games are also silly. Enjoy.
And, finally, some sports fails to round out the hilarity.
Yay for the temp job. Sorry about it taking so long to write your post. I hate that. Sometimes the couch is the only comfy place to sleep, but your still single and childless so you don’t know that. LOL.
I hate waiting for email updates.
I’m cool with falling asleep on the couch after watching a late-night movie, but purposely sleeping there multiple nights in a row isn’t quite as fun. In my opinion π
Okay, I’ll give you that. It isn’t that comfy after a few nights.
Michelle, you never disappoint. Good about the job, sorry about the sofa, hope you get your evaluation soon. I appreciate that you scour videos to provide entertainment for us. I even watched the advertisement on the first video because it was about sweaters and giving rabies to babies. π Good choices!
Thanks π Let’s be honest, scouring the internet for humorous videos isn’t as bad as I make it out to be. And I’m pretty pleased about the job as well … except for the fact that I have to wake up at 7:30. And to think I used to wake up at 6 for high school band practice. I don’t know how I survived that.
Blogging is hard. There are times when I think: a) Does it really matter if I skip a week? But I know if I skip one, I’ll skip two, then three, then it’ll be good by blog. b) I’m just talking to myself here, so I can say whatever I want. (I actually believe this); finally c) someday I’ll have no more to say. With luck I’ll know it and wind up the blog, instead of repeating stuff I’ve already said. That would be sad, like a beheaded chicken running around spouting blood. (Ugh, gross!)
Oh, definitely. Once you stop writing, it’s so hard to start again. That’s what I was telling myself last night when I wrote this post π And I don’t think you’ll ever run out of things to say. Because the things you write are based off your own life, and your life is always changing! So you’ll always have something new to talk about.
Blogging is so hard and I have the same problem, often. I will sit to write a post and nothing comes out. lol. π
Hence my life update. When in doubt about what to write, do a life update! π
yes indeedy π
Good luck on the job, Michelle. It’s a job, right?! Yay! Thanks for the videos. They’re worth it!
Haha yes, it’s a job. Well, a temp job, but I believe that still counts as a job. That’s my understanding, anyway. π
Most definitely! Congrats! A job is a job when it pays.
I found this not too long ago. Paul Hurt is apparently a gymnastics comedian–there are a number of his routines online: : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO_BnsrWMnI
And I love the Terry Tate, Office Linebacker skits (they’re actually Reebok commercials): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzToNo7A-94
Hahaha. Re: Paul Hunt — so funny! I love when he crawls around on the underside of the beam. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of him before this!
And I have seen Terry Tate — love him! It’s hysterical how serious he is about his ridiculous job.
Also, you’ll be amused to know that your comment was almost marked as Spam because it contained more than one link. I was like NO! WAIT! IT’S NOT SPAM! And thus, your comment was saved.
