That’s right — as of Sunday evening, I’ve officially hit my IndieGoGo fundraising goal! Huzzah! Big thanks to everyone who’s participated in the campaign so far, and big thanks to anyone who hasn’t yet but intends to contribute before the campaign ends on Dec 9. Remember, if you want to get your hands on a signed copy of Imminent Danger, this is the best way to do it!
This also means y’all get to see the cover for the sequel, Chasing Nonconformity, because a promise is a promise, and I promised I’d share the cover if we hit the goal. Which we did! Yay! The big reveal happens this Friday, so keep your eyes peeled and your excitement at a survivable level.
It also means we’re now into stretch goal territory. So here’s the first stretch goal! If we can hit $600, I’ll add in an art card of the swanky new Chasing Nonconformity cover to the perks of everyone who contributes to the campaign (note: not including the $3 perk, because that’s just digital and therefore doesn’t involve physical mail). You know you want one!
In related news, my mother is coming to visit me next week, which means we’re going to get a ton of editing done on Chasing Nonconformity while she’s here. I doubt we’ll get the whole way through, but that’s what Christmas is for!

Congratulations! I just discovered the whole fundraising campaign idea yesterday, so I hope I succeed as you have 🙂
Thanks 🙂 Hey, when you do try a fundraiser, let me know — I’m happy to help you promote it!
Awesome! I used Pubslush, but they make you wait a few days, so my doesn’t go live until the 7th. Got any tips on how to promote???
Hmm … mostly I’ve been leveraging connections I already have. So I promote on Facebook, my blog, twitter, etc. I haven’t tried any paid advertisements yet, so I can’t tell you if those are worth it. I think the most important thing is reminding people that while contributing is awesome, it’s also crucial for them to share the campaign with their own social networks.
ok cool Thanks for the advice 🙂
Congratulations! Love the fact that you and your mother work so closely together – impressive team!
Thanks 🙂 As for my mother and I, we certainly try our best, although we often encounter difficulties in that we don’t quite see eye-to-eye on certain elements of writing. Which usually ends with me stalking off in a huff, cooling down, realizing she’s right, and then changing whatever got me worked up in the first place, lol.
I am going to be part of the “Chasing Nonconformity” cover reveal, and that means I get to see the cover before everyone else! I know what it looks like, and you don’t. I could tell you… but I won’t, because it’s so cool. You’ll just have to wait. Nya nya nya nya!
I was going to make a witty remark about the delightful immaturity of your comment, but then I just started laughing and laughing when I got to the “nya nya” part, so instead I shall simply reply with: lol
Congrats! Looking forward to the cover reveal.
Fo shizzle 😀
Whoot! I’m ready to see this cover!
Me too! Wait, I’ve already seen it. I mean, I’m excited for YOU to see it 😀
I have been thinking about running a similar campaign. I read your campaign details and love the fun way you engage with prospective contributors. Well done. Inspiring stuff.
Thanks 🙂 It took a heckuva lot of pre-planning, but I have to admit, running the campaign has been really fun. Plus you end up reaching out to people you haven’t talked to in years, which makes for some really cool conversations.
Yea you! Congrats for your much-deserved success. Remember us poor, struggling artists when you’re sipping Margaritas on the tropical island you’ve bought with your book earnings (is that where mom was when she sent you those gorgeous pics? Have you already bought it??)
I have indeed bought the island, and I have named it Isla Nublar in the hopes that the name will attract many ferocious dinosaurs, whom I can then form into a dinosaur army and take over the world.
And thanks 🙂
Damn, girl! That’s seriously cool! 😀
Glad to hear it.
Me too 😀
