After tormenting you for months with “I’m going to re-publish Imminent Danger soon”, it’s finally time to reveal the cover that will grace the entirely self-published, no-iUniverse-involvement version of Imminent Danger And How to Fly Straight into It.
Ready?
Steady?
Go!
Don’t you just absolutely love it???!!!
This cover was created by the wonderful Ravven, who’s pretty well known amongst self-publishers due to her gorgeous covers. As a matter of fact, another of her covers belongs to A Vengeance of Angels by Andrew Toynbee, which is going live today on Amazon! So hop over to Mr. Toynbee’s blog and check out that shizzle.
Important note:
The new version of Imminent Danger is NOT live yet. I repeat, it is not live. The version currently for sale is the iUniverse version. That’s because I still have a few things to do on the ebook and print versions, not to mention I haven’t cancelled my iUniverse contract yet. But that should be happening in the very near future — and rest assured you’ll hear all about it when that does go down! So until then hang tight, enjoy the cover, and prepare yourselves for the newly revamped Imminent Danger!
And now … the giveaway!
It’s a cover reveal — of course there’s a giveaway! Since I don’t have the new book to give away yet, the prize for this giveaway will be … drum roll …
Cover Art Cards!!!
Wooooo! Talk about exciting!!! For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s essentially the book cover printed on a postcard. They’re super classy, and awesome collectibles for any indie book enthusiast. And you just know I’m going to be JK Rowling levels of famous one day, so best to start collecting your memorabilia now! (ha)
So all you need to do in order to win one of these cover art cards is leave a comment on this post. You could also re-blog this cover reveal on your own blog, but that’s totally above and beyond the call of duty. Not that I wouldn’t appreciate it if you were to do so! Anyway, what are you waiting for? Start commenting!
Special thanks to …
… all the awesome bloggers who helped me out with this cover reveal:

Yay! Not quite a synchronised reveal, but close enough, I say!
New cover is amazing. Considering donating current copy to the library and getting the shiny new one once it’s released 🙂 But the original might be a collector’s item, one day…
I’ll figure something out.
Congrats on your upcoming re-publish 🙂
That’s a great idea, to donate your earlier version, although you’re right it might be a collector’s item one day! Probably more than the “Immin Dang” version I own, lol, but I’ll let Michelle explain that!

Woo! Luckily we weren’t going for super synchronization, so I think it worked out well enough 🙂 I personally support you donating the book to the library, since obviously I want EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD to read the book, but I also believe it will one day be super valuable, so go with your gut, lol.

Fantastic!
I know there’s tons of detail in that cover, but I couldn’t get past the girl’s eyes. They’re kind of hypnotic, and I couldn’t seem to look anywhere else once I had seen the sparkle in the green pools of light that they looked like!
I love her eyes! I was so pleased when I got the first cover draft, because I wasn’t entirely sold on the whole “close up on her face” thing — could be boring? But then I saw the eyes and I was like, yeah, okay, this is pretty sweet 🙂
A massive understatement! The eyes are magnetic!!

Looks great! It’s much more appealing than the old cover!
I agree! The old one has its strengths — I know a few people really like the silhouette on black/red thing — but I think this one captures the spirit of the book much better 🙂

Looks great, Michelle! I’ve always wondered where you (or your cover deisgner) would find models for the cover. Stock photo sources? Bought rights or public domain or otherwise? Volunteers? Friends? Paid model specifically for this cover? I have no idea but I have two novels in the eternal pipeline that could do well with a human on the front.
In this case, stock photo. The nice thing about some of the stock photo sites is you can find a shot you like, and then there’s a little button that says “More by this model” which takes you to their entire portfolio. So if you’re writing a series and need multiple shots for multiple covers, problem solved!
