New Book Trailer! (because I’m bored)

So instead of catching up with the work hours I still need to finish for December, I instead decided to spend the morning making a new book trailer for Imminent Danger!

I really need to get my priorities straightened out.

Anyway, here’s the new trailer! It’s considerably more chill than the last one, and while it sadly doesn’t feature a soundtrack reminiscent of an adult video, I feel it is still worth a watch.

Maybe if this whole author thing doesn’t work out I can pursue a career as a maker of extremely low-budget book trailers …

  1. Reblogged this on xlibrisbookreviews and commented:
A mysterious masked man comes to her rescue
    His name is Varrin

He is strong, and clever, and handsome
He is everything Eris has ever dreamed of

One that will put her planet, her life, and her heart
In the clutches of imminent danger

But what other choice does she have?

  2. Fun! Music sets a mysterious tone. πŸ™‚

  3. My internet is being sooooo slow. I’ll be back to watch it later.

  4. Getting more and more excited to read this book!

  5. jllefort

I like it πŸ™‚ Love the music.

  6. You’ve got spunk, Michelle. No doubt about that.

  7. Liked the music and the text but you could do with some more images

    • Images baffle me. I’m still working out the text thing, lol. I might attempt some more images in my next trailer. Stay tuned πŸ˜€

  8. Love your blog! I’ve nominated you for an award: http://changeitupediting.com/2013/01/03/i-love-bloggers/

  9. I like using Animoto to make book trailers. Picking the music to match the images is the fun part! πŸ™‚

  10. Really like the sound of the Varrin character! And the book altogether. Very exciting premises, and relating to what I am myself writing at the moment. Will definitely be following news and trailers of this one!

Hi! Your blog was one of my favorites to read and follow in 2012, so i nominated you for the Blog of the Year award.
    Check it out:

  12. Love the title. Interested. (And I’m behind. Do you have a release date yet??) =)

  13. Yes – I can be easily distracted too – I seriously think I should get one of those first generation word processors / hybrid typewriters so that damn world wide internet thingy doesn’t pull me into cyberspace… πŸ˜‰

    • Hahahaha love this plan. Or you could get a laptop with one of those wireless on/off switches. Then set it to off and duct tape over the switch so you can’t get at it.

  14. Ooh. Love it. Definitely makes me want to read it despite the lack of images, so it works. Gods know I’ve tried my hand at book trailers with stock clips and the outcome wasn’t as good. Looking forward to your launch. πŸ˜‰

    • I’ve found that a lot of self-made book trailers with lots of images look kind of … amateurish? I guess it’s because the people making the trailers don’t have access to fancy-schmancy video editing software. Anyway, I didn’t want to mess around with photos, hence the text-only πŸ™‚ I want to include explosions in the next trailer, but I’m still working out how to do that, lol.

      • Haha. I know the feeling. I was a bit wary about using stock clips myself but did enjoy editing them into the trailer. I was looking for explosions myself for my book trailer but couldn’t find one that didn’t look tacky. My mistake was getting clips of different screen resolutions. Ack.

For my next book trailer, I might get people to read dialogue. But I have to be careful or it might come off as a movie trailer. (Although that wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. LOL.)
