  1. Hey you! I missed you on my blog feed. How’s it going? Did you make a decision about editors? Are you really digging into editing? It can be daunting sometimes, but you’ll be so happy when you’ve got the work done. Thinking about covers yet? It’s like all I think about anymore.

    • It’s been going well 😀 Still cutting down the manuscript, although I’m about 87% sure I’m going to get it copy-edited afterwards by iUniverse. I figure I’ll fully go the iUniverse route this time, and if it doesn’t pan out, I’ll try a different route next time. And I have been thinking about covers! I’ve got a few ideas kicking around, but nothing concrete yet.

This sounds hilarious. I’m already hooked, and I look forward to your publication! (Excerpts make me antsy, so I try not to read them, which is why I’ll wait until the whole thing is published.)

    • Sounds good 🙂 Stay tuned for publication info! And I’ll try to avoid any excerpts so you don’t have to shield your eyes and scream if you see them.

That is my instinctual reaction, you know, upon seeing an excerpt. I give myself whiplash regularly and Halls Cough Drops (TM) make a fortune off me.

  4. Say Michelle. Did I ever mention that I’m editing an anthology of original sci-fi lit? I’m looking for some new blood and wondered if you might like to join?

  5. HI Michelle, thanks for the like on my blog. Would you be interested in reviewing my children’s book?

  11. I just added your book to my to-read list! I look forward to reading it.

  12. Hello Michelle, thanks for your post on iUniverse. One reason it caught my entire interest was not just that I published with them, but that it happened the same year you mentioned, 2012. I can’t find a better way to articulate that experience than what you wrote. I don’t really regret that experience, but I can’t have a repeat of it. The only part of the iUniverse that I would have survived to if it were to be offered in isolation is the design. I want to publish a book. Could you link me up to a designer? I love your designs.

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the post! I wrote it hoping to help out other authors who were either thinking about joining iUniverse, or had already done so. For the design, are you talking about the interior design, or the cover design? I did the interior design myself, but I hired a lady named Ravven to do the cover design. If you want to find her, just Google “Ravven” and she should come up!

I’ve had both ‘Imminent Danger And How to Fly Straight into It’ and its sequel ever since they came out and I gotta say I absolutely love them! Something about the series brings me back into it over and over again. I think I ever read both books at least 3 times by now. You’re such a fantastic writer and I think the time you spent writing these books was definitely well spent and I look forward to anything else you’re doing in the future. Thanks so much for bringing these amazing pieces of literature into my life:)

    • That is so sweet of you to say!!! I think the only other person who’s read them that many times is my mother, lol. I’m so glad to hear you enjoy them — and soon (hopefully next spring) you can add book 3 to the rotation 😀 Thanks so much for your comment!
