Draft #3 of Cerulean Bound is officially done and off to my editor and alpha reader!
It took about three months to slog through all the revisions, and I only managed to cut 3k words — but in my defense, I added about five new scenes, so it’s frankly a miracle the word count didn’t shoot through the roof. I’m still aiming to get it down below 100k before I’m done with it, but this is a good start.
In other news, my best friend has bought her first house (woo!) and now lives only 10 minutes away. As such, we had a “walk the dog and bake cupcakes” date on Thursday. Check out our mad cupcake decorating skills (and my friend’s mad photography skills):
Good news, all around, Michelle! Those cupcakes look fabulous, and the cover page of your manuscript is cool. (But then, I always think paper mss. look cool!)
I’m surprised the cupcakes turned out as well as they did, because we kind of just took the piping bag and went to town on them, lol. I love paper manuscripts!!! The problem is I can’t really work with them (unless it’s a final proofread) because I always find stuff to change, and I find it so much faster to type than to hand write so it gets frustrating.
Agree with you on paper manuscripts. My longhand “proto-draft” becomes an artifact once I type it into Word (changing as I go, of course). I print a copy when it’s approaching perfection (ha!) as a last-ditch backup, but I do all my editing on the computer, making liberal use of highlighting and different colours of text. The WIP is quite zany at the moment.
OK, gotta go get a cupcake!
Awesome news! Can’t wait to read it. As for the cupcakes, they look yummy. Where’s a photo of that dog, though?? 🙂
Oh dang! Good point. I shall acquire a photo of Fable the Shiloh German Shepard and include it on my next post, just for you 🙂
Yay 😀
Looks delicious ! 🙂 I just checked your Blog to look if there is something new. Cant wait to read Cerulean Bound. 🙂
Best Greetings, Cornelia
Please tell me there is an update for the third book. I love the series and can’t wait to see what happens next.
Agree with Liz. Just re read the first two. Did book 3 ever get released? I can’t find it anywhere and I’m very eager to read it.
