50 Self-Published Books Worth Reading — Chasing Nonconformity Nominated!

If you’ve been following my assorted social medias, you might have heard that some wonderful individual nominated my second book, Chasing Nonconformity, for the 50 Self-Published Books Worth Reading 2016 list!

Now, I have no idea if getting on this list actually means anything — more readers, more publicity, more sales, etc. But I’m in this race now, and darn it if I don’t want to win! Voting ends on July 1, so it’s time for a flood of last-minute ballots to swing my victory!

Therefore, if you have the chance, please pop over to this link and vote for Chasing Nonconformityhttp://www.readfree.ly/vote-50-self-published-books-worth-reading-2016-science-fiction/

Thank you in advance if you vote! I would offer to share the spoils of my success, but as previously mentioned, I’m not sure there are any spoils to actually be had. Nevertheless, onwards!

  1. Congrats. Voted. Though I think the site is getting bombarded by traffic because it’s moving really slow.

    • Thanks! And it’s been slow pretty much every time I’ve gone to it … so either it’s getting bombarded, or it just has a terrible server lol

  2. Reblogged this on Paws4Thought and commented:
Go vote for Chasing Nonconformity – and if you haven’t read Michelle Proulx’s awesome space operas you need to get on that!

  3. Voted. Truly great book! The site for voting, on the other hand, leaves a bit to be desired.

    • Yeah, it’s a bit … challenged. Lol. Half the time I try to go there, and it just doesn’t load. I’d never actually heard of the site until one of my Facebook friends mentioned I’d been nominated. And once I was nominated, well … WINNING IS EVERYTHING. (lol)

  4. Good luck. I will vote for you. Still need to read the sequel. It is on my Kindle as we speak. Soon, very soon.

    • Ah, thanks! I have no idea how stiff the competition is (didn’t even know I was nominated until like halfway through the voting), but every vote counts! Take your time reading the sequel — the longer you put it off, the longer I have to finish book 3, lol.

      • I’m a slow reader. You should have plenty of time to get that 3rd one out. Hope your B&B is going well.

        • It is! We’ve been open about a month, and so far our guests have nothing but kind things to say. Obviously there are hiccups here and there (i.e. I burnt the bacon this morning), but by and large it’s going swimmingly 😀

  5. Hmmm. Can’t see your book in the list. Geo-blocked? Missed deadline? No, I can only see 46 books! WTF?

    • Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! I suspect a conspiracy. If you go specifically to the sci-fi section of the competition, it might show up?

      • I finally sorted my brain out. Found the vote and it worked! It must have been this morning’s practice with our federal election, and pedantically correcting the election official’s incorrect terminology. I must stop doing that! Am I alone in this?
She said the green form is for the local government and the white one is for the federal government. WTF! It’s your job to know these things, woman! Green is house of reps, aka local member, white is for senate, state-based reps. No wonder people are disillusioned by the government…

        • That sounds incredibly frustrating. She’d better be a volunteer, or else that’s seriously concerning. At least you got it all sorted out? Also, thanks for the vote 😀

Great! If you want to raise awareness and sell more copies of any books created through smaller publishers, go to http://www.storytelleralley.com/users/emilyw to send it in for us to review! If we like it, we’ll sell it for you! 🙂
